Learn how to simplify your IT - Optimizing processes in SMEs
IT Service Management – Best Practices in SMEs
The training uses practical examples to demonstrate specific ways how the processes can be optimized with IT services and, as the result of the project study, approximately 20 percent of IT and personnel costs can be a saved. The project partners have set ambitious goals: "By March 2013 we want to train in Central Europe more than 1,000 small and medium enterprises," explains project coordinator Kirsten Platz the planned activities.
Structure of the trainings
As the following graphic shows, the INNOTRAIN IT trainings are structured in three modules:
Under the motto "Learn how to simplify your IT - optimize processes in SMEs" the first face-to-face workshop provides an overview of the most important ITSM issues for SMEs. The starting point is a compact and practical ITSM method. In four different case studies business processes, IT services and the IT infrastructure will be modelled in group work. This "self-help" should help to structure systematically the IT of the own company with ITSM , to develop appropriate solutions for their company and to realise innovations in their companies.
The second module allows it to develop the theory to various IT service management topics using different e-learning elements. The platform offers, besides the actual ITSM theory, many practical aspects:
- The case studies of the pattern company can be processed independently on.
- Your company can be modeled in the specific modeling environment to define your own processes aligned with reference processes.
- The discussion forum allows it to communicate and exchange with other ITSM interested personsn and to discuss further issues.
- Self-assessments can test and improve your knowledge.
"Learn how to simplify your IT - ITSM implementation and relization of innovations" - this slogan completes the training process. In a second attendance workshop, participants learn how to align their own IT department to the ITSM philosophy anew. Here, in addition to technological and process-related aspects, especially the issue of "organizational change" is addressed. This is also closely linked to issues of innovation and management. This will assist SMEs to use the freed-up potential for innovation on the infrastructure, process and product level.
All FREE training elements can be attended by employees from small and medium enterprises. The participants have to take into account the so-called "de minimis" regime for state aid in the European Union. Using the list of current trainings you can find the binding application to any of the training.
In classroom trainings and online trainings, IT professionals, project managers, heads of IT departments and managers from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will be qualified to apply IT service management (ITSM) and implement IT innovations with specific processes of organisational change. During the last months the twelve project partners analyzed the need for IT service management in SMEs and developped in all participating EU countries, case studies and online surveys on the status quo. On the basis of the results a new ITSM method adapted to the needs of SMEs was developped together with a training concept.
